Where You’re Supposed To Be is a documentary photo project largely centred around my father, John and our shared cockney identity.

Since moving out of my parents’ home, every time I see my father it seems as if he has gotten so much older, and I find myself worrying a little more about his mortality. What started as an vague plan to take images of my father to memorialize him in years to come, allowed me to re-enter my family’s’ home for the first time in years and to explore the world I left behind.
Exploring themes such as familial love, class and connection, I try to capture the complexities of parent/child relationships set in the backdrop of the East End of London.
